My First Dress & Pretty Boxes

I have not really let myself buy many things for our daughter since we are not even DTC yet, but sometimes you just can't pass up something you love!

Vancouver, BC

 

 

On Wednesday we took the train to Vancouver, British Columbia for the day. We had friends visiting from CA with their son and daughter adopted from China. Vancouver is a great city, very metropolitan. We shopped on famous Robson Street, and spent some time in Chinatown. It was a fun day!

P.S. Well, it's official, Powell is taller than me!!

This is Smokey! We decided to adopt a dog before we left on vacation. We found Smokey at a shelter. He is 2 1/2 years old, a beagle/boxer mix. He is a little bigger than I would have liked :), but he is already well trained and has lots of good manners.

Back to reality! We had a wonderful trip to Lake Tahoe. Our first stop was Crater Lake, Or. I hadn't been there since I was little, it is as beautiful as I remember. Next stop, Ashland,Or home to the famous Shakespeare Festival. Ashland is a darling town. From there, on to Reno, Nevada. This was my first time inside a casino, let's just say "not my thing" :) We stayed at Circus Circus, Bennett kept saying, "This is the best hotel I have ever stayed in!" The boys were in heaven with all the carnival type games that we let them play until THEY wanted to stop. South Lake Tahoe was our next stop for 3 days. It is so beautiful. We then headed to North Lake Tahoe, to Squaw Valley for the last 4 days. We rode the gondola to 8000 ft to High Camp where you spend the day if you like, with a swimming pool, hiking trails, restaurants, and spectacular view. While in Squaw Valley, Tahoe was having it's own Shakespeare Festival, so we saw Romeo and Juliet! The backdrop to the stage is the lake, you bring your beach chairs and a picnic to watch the play. It was wonderful. I think even the boys enjoyed it!

That's our trip in a nutshell. We had a great time!

We are leaving for Lake Tahoe tomorrow morning. This is our
first trip this summer and we are all looking forward to it.
