Vintage Style Christmas House Project

My Mom and I did a fun project over the weekend. I had bought these paper mache houses about a year ago...and we finally got around to painting and decorating them.
Originally I had intended to paint them creme and other soft colors...but who am I kidding...I am a color girl!

I really love this teal with a red roof! On the roof I just used the cheap snow that comes in a bag...and I had found these "kitschy" reindeer at an antique store, and love the way he makes this house look more "vintagey"!

Photobucket
On this green house...I used silver glass glitter on the roof for alot of sparkle.

Photobucket
This little pink house looks like a puff of cotton candy...I made this one to go in Lucy's room to put under the white feather boa tree I put on her dresser...it will look so magical.

~September 14, 2009~

This past weekend Toby and I headed to Texas to celebrate with Pop (Toby's Dad) and Frankie. We had a wonderful weekend being a part of their wedding ceremony and getting to meet Frankie's children for the first time. We love you both so much and are so happy that you have found each other.

Mexican Hot Chocolate

Have you tried this??

I remember my Mom making this for me as a child, but I had completely forgotten about it...well, I recently bought some...and let me just say....It is Delicious!!!

You take 4 cups of skim milk and one of the discs of chocolate and heat in a sauce pan until it boils, add sugar to taste! It is chocolatey with hints of cinnamon.

I think you will LOVE it!!!

Happy 15th Birthday Blake!

Halloween 2009

This Halloween was lots of fun...all of us dressed up for parties or Trick or Treating. To kick off the festivities, Toby and I went to our friend's Halloween Party....
as....

Lucy & Ricky Ricardo!

Photobucket
We had fun putting our costumes together...the only things we bought were my wig and "Ricky's" hat!

Photobucket

Powell was going to a party on Halloween Night, and dressed up as Lieutenant Dangle from the show Reno 911!!
Photobucket

Blake had done this costume the night before for his party...they both looked so great and played the part well!!
Photobucket

Bennett and his friends went out together...so they coordinated their costumes! (Bennett is Ketchup!)

Photobucket

And...last but NEVER least....our Cheerleader!!!

Photobucket
Lucy was a cheerleader for the Boys' High School...so now she can wear this to all the games her Brother plays in!

Photobucket
I don't think this child will ever carry a "traditional" candy bag...deciding what to use is half the fun!!

Photobucket

Our pumpkins looked great this year...Toby did all the work...a fleur di lis for me, a happy face for Lucy, and his is Jack Nicholson from "The Shining"!

Our traditional shot of Lucy with all her candy laid out! And...just for the record, Bennett's candy bag weighed in at 9.5 pounds!!!
