~we toasted to friendships we treasure

~we went to the zoo

~we celebrated each other

~we enjoyed every sunny moment

~we remembered how much our lives have been blessed these past two years

~we waited with friends to welcome home their new brothers

An Heirloom Bed and Breakfast

Meet my Father-in-law Tom, and his lovely wife Frankie

Last year they were married and moved to Comfort, Texas

They have a CHARMING home, and have decided to fulfill a life long dream of Frankie's...to open a B & B!!

Comfort Texas is 45 minutes outside of San Antonio. You can stroll through more than 40 antique stores and dine at some wonderful restaurants.

Frankie is an amazing chef who uses lots of ingredients from her own garden! Their home is warm and inviting, and filled with many wonderful antiques.

So...if your in the area and need a soft place to rest your head....
is a wonderful place :)

{Great Finds} Shabby Apple

Have you visited the Shabby Apple??

I have come across their name on quite a few blogs lately...and I was so excited.
They have so many CUTE dresses for women and girls...and the prices...great!

Here is a few I liked, but it really was hard to pick just a few...

I really love how timeless and classic their dresses are...you MUST check out

A special friendship

Meet Wu
Wu is from Liberia
He came here to get an education
He has lived in our neighborhood the past 2 years, with the last year at my friend's house across the street

Wu is an amazing Christian who walks by faith every single day
Faith that somehow he will be able to pay his tuition
Faith that somehow he will be able to finish his education

The Lord does provide, and Wu will be attending college this fall with his tuition paid
and a place to call home

Lucy loves Wu
She will find him in church and he will pick her and her doll up and hold her through our worship songs
She will find him at Candy's house and want him to hold her

I was determined before Wu moved to his new home this summer to attend school, that I capture their hands

There is something very special about seeing these two together~

I'm in love, I'm in love...and I don't care who knows it!

Well...they are here.
The fall boots are in at Anthropologie...
(sigh)

I have to say as of right now...these two
are my favorites!

A Special Day!

Today was a special day!
Two years ago we arrived in Seattle from China with Lucy, and she met her Brothers for the very first time!

Today we went to the airport to welcome our dear friends home from China with their two new "teenage" Sons!! They have walked an admirable walk in Faith and are blessed beyond measure with now 6 wonderful children...5 adopted from China in the last 7 years!! ( I will share those pics soon!!)

I thought that since we were at the airport :) I would take pics of Lucy and each of her brothers, like my friend Terry captured that day two years ago.

I know I do ALOT of posts of just Lucy...it really is only because she is such an eager and willing participant in all my little photo sessions...the boys have had their fair share (trust me) those moments just came before I ever knew what a blog was :) I never want them to feel like I didn't give them their "time" here, but they are a little more protective of their privacy.

Each of these wonderful Guys of ours have opened their hearts and made a place for this little sister. They love her and would do just about anything for her. Yes, she annoys them at times, yes they (she and Bennett) irritate each other at times, yes she plays the "little sister" card quite often...but I do know they each couldn't imagine their life without her in it.

I love seeing how each of them has changed and matured in the last 2 years.
