Favorite "Cheap" Beauty Things~

I thought it would be fun to share some of my favorite and cheap beauty things.
This first thing is not so much "cheap", but lasts so long. Bare Escentuals Foundation. It is so easy to apply and literally feels like you are not wearing makeup, and the coverage is great!!
I have used LOTS of hair products over the years...from cheap to expensive. I started using the Sleek and Shine line of Garnier Fructis about 3 years ago, and love it. I use the shampoo, conditioner, smoothing milk, anti-frizz serum, and anti-humidity hairspray. Obviously I am a little "freaked" out about frizz!! I have very naturally curly hair and like to straighten it...these products really keep it "frizz and wavy" free...especially here in our "wet" climate. With all I do to my hair; coloring, blow-drying, and straightening I think these products have helped to keep my hair healthy.
The smell alone is my favorite of this Burt's Bees Cuticle Creme...but it also works great!!

These Burt's Bees Lip Shimmers are great!!! So far I have tried Watermelon and Nutmeg. The color is sheer, and they have a minty smell...and they moisturize at the same time!!

This next thing has been in my makeup bag for probably 20 years...I cannot remember a time when I didn't use Wet & Wild's lip liner #666 (yes, I wish it had a different number!) At $1.00 this is the best find!! The color is the perfect neutral, almost your lip color, and looks great with the shimmers above or just a little lip gloss. Love it!!

  1. Oh my golly Dawn, I laughed out loud as I am a Wet N Wild 666 girl myself and yes, I went through a phase where I would not buy it because of the number - I had to get over it thought because it goes best with my face (for lack of any other way to put it!!)

    Great shares - thanks!

  3. I have the cutical cream but will give the others a try. I too have curly hair and am trying all kinds of products to straighten it! I will give these a try. If you go to China over the summer, purchase an extra straightener! Mine blew up the first day we were there (electrical converters aren't all they are cracked up to be) and I had to live with Hubei Hair as I fondly referred to it as. The humidity is awful and I had to give in to the curly look for the whole trip. Not a big deal but I do laugh when I look back at the pictures! Just looking out for you pretty lady!

  4. I have recently started using the Garnier products as well. I really love the smoothing milk and the shampoo. I just love this blog. It's so fun to read. Keep it up!
P.S. I promise to post the organizing book soon. Thanks for reminding me. ;)

  6. Dawn~

I am having such fun reading your favorite finds. I need to try to hair products as I am blessed with frizz and can't seem to win the battle here in humid San Antonio...

Saw a friend using the BB Cuticle Creme in Ladies Bible Class yesterday. That's twice in one week I've heard/seen it--time to get some!

    All the best,
    Lisa

  8. I'm a fan of Bare Minerals too - my skin really has improved.

Some other products I like include Clean and Clear Advantage - cause my chin breaks out like clockwork every month; and Olay Definity Night Cream and the good ole facial Buf Puff.
