~Red Thread~

We are 60 days into waiting for our LOA, and I have to admit this part of the journey is harder that I thought. I have been a little "stir crazy", but keeping busy. It seems at these times God gives me one more "red thread" to hang onto.

Today, I received an email from a woman whose family had committed to adopting Lucy in October '07, before we ever saw her face. She wanted me to know how she came to love our Lucy and how she had to step away so that she could be found by our family. She and her friends had been praying for Lucy and one of them came across our blog, and wanted to know if this was the little girl she had been praying for! I could not thank her enough for the willingness to share her story with me, and the gift she gave to us by knowing that they were not the family for Lucy. She and her family have found their daughter, and are overjoyed that they will be holding her very soon.

I am always touched by other's stories of how God placed the perfect child into their family, and how he shows that by these "red threads", but I am so amazed as it unfolds for us. One day I will go back and document each of those moments in our journey to Lucy because there have been many.

I am so grateful for this reminder of God's plan for Lucy and our family...and why this "wait" is worth every moment. I have always known this adoption journey is a complete walk in Faith, but what I seemed to have forgotten is that He is holding my hand the whole time~

  1. That is just miraculous. It WAS kind of her to share that with you. And also to pray that your daughter would find her way to you. It seems to be a universal phenomenon... families and children finding one another despite overwhelming odds. I believe so strongly in God's plan for our life. It is what keeps me breathing, and moving forward. Lucy is blessed to have a family who will help her understand this. I think it helps these little ones, who have been through so very much, to make sense of their painful stories. To know that angels guided them across the world to the people who were chosen for them by God, is so powerful. Libby, at 3 years old, absolutely understands this in her heart. No one could convince me otherwise. She talks about this very thing almost every day. This knowledge is her reference point for everything else. Lucy will just blossom in your love. It will be a privilege to watch.

  9. THAT IS TOTALLY CRAZY-- WHAT A SMALL WORLD. REALLY IT WAS GOD THAT ALLOWED HER TO HAVE PEACE THAT ALTHOUGH THEY DID NOT FOLLOW THROUGH WITH ADOPTING LUCY GOD DIRECTED HER TO YOUR SITE SO THEY COULD FIND PEACE IN KNOWING SHE WAS GOING TO AN AMAZING FAMILY. IT REALLY CANNOT JUST BE CHANCE-- I JUST DONT BELIVE THAT. IT WAS TOTALLY DIVINE ARRANGEMENT OF CIRCUMSTANCES THAT LED HER TO FIND YOUR BLOG. THAT IS JUST AMAZING!!!! I PRAY LUCY WILL BE IN YOUR ARMS SOON!!!!

You are right...it was God. This woman sounds like an amazing Christian...she knew it was Him placing this on her heart and felt peace knowing he would give Lucy to the perfect family for her! Her dates coincide EXACTLY to when I inquired about Lucy for the very first time!

How lovely that you heard from the other family. I have wanted to contact the family of a little girl whose file we had for two weeks while we prayed about her -- I just don't know how to contact them.

    Soon....come on LOA!
