I just stopped in on USCIS (U.S. Customs and Immigration Services) website to check their on-line time frame (torture) box for processing documents. Currently, as of December 14, 2007, they are processing I600-A applications from September 16, 2007!!! Our application was not mailed until December 14, 2007. Oh please, oh please let that not be the case. We have not received our fingerprint appointment yet, and at that rate could be waiting until March just for our I171.
So, today I am thankful I know who our daughter is, and I am thankful for this journey to her no matter how long.

  1. Oh, no!! Thankfully the website's date is always behind and not accurate. Hopefully you will not have too long to wait. I know how frustrating immigration can be!!

Love seeing Lucy's picture in your blog header!!

  2. Oh that is a whole lot of YUCK! We will pray for speed!

Now, I am addicted to your site, because I want to see precious Lucy come home!!

    Thinking of you

  3. I pop in every now and then to see what's happening since it seems from some of the landmarks mentioned in your posts that we live relatively close to each other.

Plus, you comment on my sister's (Truly Blessed) blog often.

Sorry you are being adversely affected by the snails in Government (both US and China!) too.

Congratultions on knowing who your daughter is. Hopefully you will have her home with you sooner rather than later.

  4. Michelle is right, it is always way off, keep the faith, your darling girl will be home soon! She is sooo precious!Praying for speedy completion of your paperwork.

  5. YUCK YUCK YUCK!! I definitely hope that they are wrong. Praying for your journey as I can't imagine how anxious you are now to meet Ms. Lucy!

  6. NO NO NO!!! THAT IS HORRIBLE!! I know you can get your senetor to push you up but i think you have to give a good reason. SO, start thinking about your good reason and start making phone calls!!

Let me know what you think.

    Chrisyt :)

  7. Oh, I'd listen to the comment right before mine - try to make some phone couldn't hurt! Good luck :)

  8. Oh my! This really is the hardest part of the whole adoption process. Hang in there! I'll be praying for things to go much quicker than expected.

  9. Well, I wish I could be all rosy and happy for you but I know this part of the process is such a drag.

Hold onto that peace knowing God has allowed you to know who your daughter is and pray really hard that things will speed up with CIS and for loving people to be attending to Lucy...

    Hang in there my friend,

  10. I found your blog through a comment you made over at Bridget's blog. I noticed you are naming your daughter Lucy. We are naming our next daughter Lucy too. :)
Your daughter is just precious. I know you can hardly wait to go and get her. Come on over and check out my blog. I will certainly be back here to yours.

  11. First off CONGRATULATIONS on your news of sweet Lucy!!! She is beautiful!! I just read through your blog and am so excited for you. FYI from our recent experience - the website was way off and we received our updated forms much sooner than predicted. I hope the same holds true for you. I will be checking in on your blog and following your journey to your sweet daughter! I wish you all the best!

  12. I hope things go quickly. That has to be so frustrating.

Go check out my blog, there is something there for you!

  13. Hoping that is NOT the case. Will be thinking of you.

I can't imagine how difficult it is waiting. She will be home SOON!!

  14. From what I hear the website is always behind and way off.
I'll be praying that is the case and that you are in there getting those fingerprints in no time.

  15. Hay Dawn-- got something for you over at my blog. COme on over and get it!!

    Christy :)

  16. I'd call and tell them that your child is already identified!! They are supposed to give you preference over others that are agency advised us to send a letter with the 171 stating that we were waiting LOA......

  17. I added you to my blog roll. I hope that is okay. :)

  18. Bless your heart for adding me!
Just wanted to answer your ?'s... we were DTC 10-30 and LID 11-7.
I hope we are getting close. I think it will be April.

  19. Dawn,

E-mail me if you want to talk more about this BUT----we had to be refingerptinted right around the time of your referral and there were MAJOR problems (they lost my finerprints and did not beleive our financials) and delays that could have interefered with us traveling to get Kate with our group. I found the e-mail address for our USCIS office (on Rumor Queen) and e-mailed the officer in charge of our case. I explained our situation--we were a week from referral (8 weeks from travel) and needed to get our paperwork re-done ASAP in the most polite and buttery way. They responded and we got everything moving along. ALSO--your agency can intervene too. They don't like to, but I know they can call USCIS if travel is being held up. PLEASE e-mail me if you want more details!

  20. I would love to have a cyber shower for your new daughter. They really are a lot of fun. In Feb. I am doing a supply drive for the Starfish Foster Home. Would you like to have a shower in March?
