OH YUCK!

I just stopped in on USCIS (U.S. Customs and Immigration Services) website to check their on-line time frame (torture) box for processing documents. Currently, as of December 14, 2007, they are processing I600-A applications from September 16, 2007!!! Our application was not mailed until December 14, 2007. Oh please, oh please let that not be the case. We have not received our fingerprint appointment yet, and at that rate could be waiting until March just for our I171.
So, today I am thankful I know who our daughter is, and I am thankful for this journey to her no matter how long.

  1. Oh, no!! Thankfully the website's date is always behind and not accurate. Hopefully you will not have too long to wait. I know how frustrating immigration can be!!

Love seeing Lucy's picture in your blog header!!

  3. I pop in every now and then to see what's happening since it seems from some of the landmarks mentioned in your posts that we live relatively close to each other.

Plus, you comment on my sister's (Truly Blessed) blog often.

Sorry you are being adversely affected by the snails in Government (both US and China!) too.

Congratultions on knowing who your daughter is. Hopefully you will have her home with you sooner rather than later.

  6. NO NO NO!!! THAT IS HORRIBLE!! I know you can get your senetor to push you up but i think you have to give a good reason. SO, start thinking about your good reason and start making phone calls!!

Let me know what you think.

  8. Oh my! This really is the hardest part of the whole adoption process. Hang in there! I'll be praying for things to go much quicker than expected.

  9. Well, I wish I could be all rosy and happy for you but I know this part of the process is such a drag.

Hold onto that peace knowing God has allowed you to know who your daughter is and pray really hard that things will speed up with CIS and for loving people to be attending to Lucy...

    Hang in there my friend,
    Lisa

  16. I'd call and tell them that your child is already identified!! They are supposed to give you preference over others that are waiting.......my agency advised us to send a letter with the 171 stating that we were waiting LOA......

  17. I added you to my blog roll. I hope that is okay. :)

  19. Dawn,

E-mail me if you want to talk more about this BUT----we had to be refingerptinted right around the time of your referral and there were MAJOR problems (they lost my finerprints and did not beleive our financials) and delays that could have interefered with us traveling to get Kate with our group. I found the e-mail address for our USCIS office (on Rumor Queen) and e-mailed the officer in charge of our case. I explained our situation--we were a week from referral (8 weeks from travel) and needed to get our paperwork re-done ASAP in the most polite and buttery way. They responded and we got everything moving along. ALSO--your agency can intervene too. They don't like to, but I know they can call USCIS if travel is being held up. PLEASE e-mail me if you want more details!

    Blessings,
    Kim
