Summer Hiking~

this summer has been spent around home

powell was home for the summer and worked his car detail biz

blake and bennett both had jobs 

so lucy and i spent alot of time

in the car :)

we did make a point on several sundays

to get out as a family and take a hike

sometimes there were four of us

and sometime  onetime :)

all six...but i will take it!

Well, this is it

my summer reading book stack

a little ambitious you think?? 

Just a couple days ago I found 

The Lake of Dreams 

and 

Beautiful Ruins: A Novel (P.S.) 

on my library's "sale" shelf for $1

so they had to join the stack

Miss Buncle's Book

 is another Persephone Book

that I have wanted to read

The Violets of March: A Novel

was sent to me from my friend Nicki

she introduced me to Sarah Jio

and this will be the third of her books that I have read

Love her...she is a local Seattle author and her stories take 

place here in the northwest

Bread & Wine: A Love Letter to Life Around the Table with Recipes   

I am reading now...LOVE

The Art of Racing in the Rain: A Novel 

I just finished and LOVED

Mansfield Park 

and 

East of Eden

are two classics I have wanted to read

so we'll see how far I get :)

this guy headed back to school 

and moved into a "new" place

he LOVES it!

this guy got a job @ wild waves

and is playing football his senior year

he's busy!

and this girl...

cut 3 inches off her hair

for a sassy second grade look!

and since we were both sporting our colored jeans...she insisted on my pic too!

and this guy will never let me take his picture

and is enjoying his last week of staying up WAY too late!

Sweet Summertime~

Our new Ice Cream Man!!

Can you stand how c.u.t.e his little truck is???

(I have to add after seeing a couple of the comments :)...that our last ice cream man drove a creepy /kidnapper van also!!  That is why we LOVE our new one!)

and, in case you forgot teenagers live here, and think this house is all cute sunhats, nail polish and sunshine....

Blake had some friends over for a little bonfire

this fire was MUCH bigger AFTER the WHOLE wood pallet they put ON TOP of the fire pit broke apart!!

I had Toby on stand-by with the hose...see those pretty hydrangeas in the back there, they are a little "fried"...

the hot dogs roasted pretty quick though :)

and, yes, teenage boys always stand like that when they are texting :)

A Day at the Beach~

We went to the beach today

and ended up at one with not alot of "digging" sand, but the tide was way way out which is always alot of fun!

And, since Lucy has a new beach bag....

it seemed like the perfect time to shoot a video :)

 

How does this happen??

How do you go from a toothless little first grader

to a boot wearin', Justice lovin' second grader??

Last Friday, Lucy was invited to her first little "school's out " girl party...they danced and danced, ate Pizza, and did lots of giggling...she had a great time!

Speaking of Justice :)...we ventured in to their store for the very.first.time!  My little peanut is so tiny, and she is just now able to wear some of their size 6 tops...and she is thrilled!!

So...as we kick off the summer before I have a Senior, a Sophmore, a Second Grader, AND a Second year college student...I do know where the time goes...and it goes FAST!
