Rainy Weekending ~

This weekend was
rain
rain
and
more rain!

We did get to have Powell home for the weekend...which always makes me happy
when my whole family is together!

Saturday was my Mom's birthday so we headed out for a little girls day.
We went to Ikea along with every other person in western WA :)
I picked up some french linen inspired towels for 79 cents :)
and
tea lights because can you really ever have enough?

I made this REALLY delicious
Pumpkin Bundt Cake from here
for my Mom and Stepdad's birthdays...
truly the moistest (is that a word?) cake I have ever had
I added a maple glaze which was delicious!

Sunday was a lazy rainy football game kind of day
Powell had to head back to school (a 5 hour drive)
I finished this book
which was great and need to follow up with the movie!

and I have started this one which I am already
halfway through...love it!

I made this soup which is a family favorite!
the recipe is here
(I dont usually add chicken, instead I put in sweet potatoes)
It really is delicious!

and here we are back at Monday!
Have a great week!

Weekending through my phone!

Wow, it's been awhile since I posted!
I ended up with bronchitis after Thanksgiving
which really s l o w e d me down
and it is taking awhile for me to feel
normal.

I celebrated my birthday last week
and was blessed beyond measure
by SO many wonderful friends and
family♥

So...here is a quick up date of the weekend
with pictures from my phone
Friday night Lucy and I went to craft night at her school, the
girls who put this on outdid themselves...Lucy made sugar scrub
snowflake feather ornament, snowman ornament,
magnetic picture frame, and a candle holder!

Saturday was Lucy's lesson at SANCA
She has been working SO hard on her trampoline seat drop
which does not come easy with her hemiplegia, but
she has got it!!!
You've come a long way Baby!!

My favorite is to watch her on the tight wire
and the confidence she feels as we walks
across

and I am a little bit in love with this
machine!

Buddy the Elf was feeling a little
mischievous this weekend :)

I spent the weekend getting our Christmas decorations out
my chalkboard walls are decked for the holiday!!

and Sunday we got our Christmas tree!!

There you have our weekend
in a handful of pictures!

Thanksgiving Weekending 2012

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving...

I love love love when Powell comes home, and my family is "whole"
Before we headed to the Brooks' for dinner, I tried to get my Christmas card photo :)
here are a few of the other shots...we had so much fun taking these!!

I really do have the best boys in the world...seriously
THE BEST!

We love spending Thanksgiving at the Brooks'...Powell, Sam and Rachel
all attend WSU together and are the same age, Lucy has missed Rachel, and Uncle Peter
joined us this year!

I think I am finally on my way to feeling a little normal.,.I have been sick for 10 days!!
I have not had a cough like this in years...it has really knocked me down!

Powell headed back to school today...he will return home in 3 weeks for Christmas break
Blake has some college applications to fill out :)
and I am reading for a little holiday cheer!!

New Years Weekending~

Happy New Year!

Saturday Lucy and I were gifted with tickets to Cinderella at the 5th Avenue theatre...we were SO excited!

(Sadly, these were the only two pictures I took...but it was just too crowded to try and get any more)

It happened to be that the FCC (Families with Children from China) were at the theatre that day, so there were so many darling Chinese girls with their families.
We loved the show, and I can officially say I have a theatre buddy :)

We had a quiet New Year's Eve at home, Toby, Bennett, Lucy and I...Powell and Blake spent the night with friends.
New Year's Day we went bowling as a family...Powell has been bowling LOTS at college and Lucy has only been one other time and LOVES it!!

Toby gets things started

It takes awhile for Lucy's ball to get down to the pins :)...but she patiently waits

Powell is SO smooth when he bowls...you cannot even hear the ball hit the lane...we could tell he has been bowling alot :)

Bl

Blake is our "Randy Johnson" of bowling...he shot his ball down the lane at 22mph...we kept reminding him he wasn't pitching a baseball!!

Bennett is still getting comfortable in his pose...he informed us we have only taken him bowling ONE other time!! LOL!

I LOVE bowling shoes!!

Powell and Toby were not happy with their scores...they usually bowl better than this...Lucy on the other hand was thrilled with her 71!!

We ended our night with hombows...our favorite!!

We are looking forward to 2012!!
